Section I

Eligibility

  1. i. Five-year rule. Applicants must be within the first five years of their professional practice, however that practice is reasonably defined. Mid-career transitions are considered on their merits.
  2. ii. Demonstrated engagement. Applicants must demonstrate active, sustained engagement with populations relevant to the Foundation's remit. Theoretical interest alone is not sufficient; nor, however, is engagement without reflection.
  3. iii. Institutional independence. Applicants must not, at the time of application, be in receipt of programme-specific funding from the Foundation, nor serve as a member of its board or staff.
  4. iv. Two referees. Applicants must supply the names and contact details of two professional referees, at least one of whom is not employed by the applicant's current organisation.
  5. v. Good standing. Applicants must confirm that they are not presently subject to a professional disciplinary proceeding. The Foundation does not require a clear record, only a disclosed one.

The Foundation reviews all applications in good faith. We do not operate a formal appeals process; our decisions, once made, are final. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to reapply in subsequent rounds.
